Nothing new under the sun.*
It may be true
there’s nothing new.
When to one the sun is setting
to another it is rising,
same sun, same sky,
different points of view.
So here too.

paragraph
One for all seasons
myriad treasures
manifold reasons
Paragraph
Trees of all sizes
plants green and flowered
all kinds of grasses
Paragraph
Animals too
finned, feathered, and mammals,
humans in view
Paragraph
Sunlight glinting
on fish as they’re feeding
ducks floating by
trailing their V’s
Paragraph
Profusion of colors
vivid and faded
harmoniously blending
in sunlight and shaded
Paragraph
Fragrances
wafting alone or in union,
carried along
on gentle breezes
Paragraph
Leaves rustling
brooks babbling
babies too,
birds warbling
children laughing
(folks in hushed chatter)
melodiously blending;
and yet nooks and crannies
where silence grows too
Paragra
Walk thru a public garden
in all kinds of seasons
whatever the reasons
Silence signals another storm
and clouds quickly form.
Thunder cracks faint, then strong,
trees whip the clouds along,
lightning dances here and there;
raindrops dash everywhere
refreshing earth and cooling air.
Soon the clouds scoot on their way
and calm descends upon the day.
As the sun resumes her stay
puddles start to fade away,
from all the trees and bushes
a pulsing‑buzzing rushes
as Cicadas break the bounds,
releasing all the summer sounds.
When the evergreen was ever green
thru years of summer suns,
it stored the heat
but shared the cool
thru days of shade
and fanning nights
while still collecting dew.
The tree that gave such cooling shade
thru years of lengthy summer days
its needles now are turning brown
but promises of stored up heat,
from deep within its mighty frame,
will gladden short but weary days
and long cold wintry nights.
When the evergreen is never green
its blessings still do grow,
to heat the hearth
and mulch the soil
it springs anew
and always warms the soul.
I started out to write a book,
“The Solution to all Problems”
As I wrote and wrote, revised, revised –
it simplified,
until the very essence remained –
two words, that’s all there is –
“live love”
Driving through Kansas I saw
painted on a barn
two four-word sentences
Of the four unique words
the four-letter one was repeated on one line
the two-letter word repeated on the other
same positions, not adjacent, homophones
the three-letter and five-letter words
were on both lines, same positions, not adjacent
What were the sentences?
Hint: the three-letter word is “God.”
The five-letter word starts with “p.”
A speck of Truth,*
as the point of a needle,
bursts the bubble
swollen with err-ors
encased in belief.
Problems dissipate.

Expressed
not by words
how spoken
body language
or even thought
but feeling
opening thoughts
to receptivity
A body, me?
It cannot be if believed,
through physical sense,
a seeming situation,
self-deception,
for God’s creation.
Where is the child of Love
the Word was speaking of
with its message from Above?
Not hid in dust, material,
Truth makes visible,
through spiritual sense,
man purely spiritual.
God ever here
image and likeness appear
to thought that’s clear;
then no deception
distorts conception
of man’s perfection.
Loving God, heart, soul, mind,
neighbor and self in kind,
we find reality
and see the me that Jesus saw,
when he healed the sick
and raised the dead,
man, with no corporeality,
just the expression of God’s qualities
individualized as you and me.
not male, female, young, old
just Your image to behold
not weak, strong, right, wrong
all in love to You belong
not plain, fair, dark, light
only precious in Your sight
not fat, skinny, short, tall
just Your likeness, all
not rich, poor, slave, lord
opportunity is Your accord
not sick, sinful, or impure
created perfect is Your cure
awake, asleep, alone, alarms
always safe within Your arms
